Renewable energy data must be reported by 31 August

The following must be submitted:

• The total electricity used (MWh).
• The total renewable electricity ratio for the whole factory (in percent).
• The renewable electricity ratio for the brand owner’s manufacturing of certified products at the factory (in percent).
• REC cancellation statements supporting the renewable electricity claim.
• Documented proof of the brand owner’s share of production at the factory, where applicable.

All applicable factories are listed on TCO Certified Portal. Please check the “Accepted Factory List” tab in the column “Renewable energy submission by”.

Please note:

• Renewable energy reporting can be conducted either for the entire factory or specifically for the brand owners’ manufacturing operations.
• Reporting on (and purchasing Renewable Energy Certificates for) the brand owner’s share of the factory’s operation can lead to a higher ratio of renewable energy than reporting figures for the whole factory.
• A brand’s share of the factory’s energy consumption is determined by its revenue or manufacturing volume.
• Make sure that the submitted REC cancellation statements and electricity consumption documentation use the same reporting boundary.

Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs)) are valid up to three months before purchase and six months after purchase. This means that EACs issued from June 2024 to March 2026 can be used to report consumption in 2025. Final assembly factories must achieve at least 15% renewable energy for this reporting period.
